Enhancing Defence learning

554

respondents

Discovery

Spinifex undertook a comprehensive, multi-phased research initiative to understand these challenges thoroughly. First, a review of past qualitative data revealed significant gaps in SADL awareness and inconsistent application. Next, a large-scale quantitative survey of 544 respondents captured user confidence, perceived importance, and preferred support resources. Qualitative workshops with leaders, subject matter experts, and trainers highlighted critical user needs and pain points.

Finally, open discussions confirmed the need for a single, authoritative SADL resource, ensuring all stakeholders had access to simplified, outcome-focused guidance.

Design

Armed with these insights, Spinifex collaborated with key Defence personnel to create a central, scalable SADL resource hub. It featured clear process outlines, practical examples, risk management guidance, and tailored resources for diverse user groups.

Enhancing Defence Learning

Delivery

Spinifex collaborated closely with DELTA and ADFTSS to create accessible, user-friendly tools. Through ethical research practices—ensuring informed consent, confidentiality, and transparent communication—the newly developed resources were shared across the Defence training community.

The entire project was delivered in an eight-month period.
